of a dark art as some would have you believe! With hands on training , patience,
and a little assistance now and then whilst at our centre you will be able
to create a wall, ceiling or put your hand to other areas of our trade it
all lies ultimately with the individual.
We have 28 years experience and fully qualified in trowel trades on Scottish soil, We have extensive knowledge of all trowel applications and have a proven track record of success with past students.

WET PLASTERING / PLUMBING & SCREEDING
WALLS
The use of Thistle
bonding plaster as our base coat plaster.
The use of Thistle Multi Finish as our finishing coat application.
The use of various plastering beads / how to create screeds.
The methods of fixing gyprock using dot and dab method.
MAINTENANCE / PATCHING / INVISIBLE REPAIRS
We will show you how to achieve a competent standard in remedial works to accompany your ability to do renovation type works alongside new works.
By using various methods for new and existing works.
CEMENT RENDERING / ROUGHCASTING
Initial base scratch coat to bay walls with
sand and lime based material for ease of application.
Second coat of same to bring up to a cement rendered smooth finish. You will try Dry casting and Wet casting as a roughcasting application. Following your casting experiance we will get you to do small patch repairs to compliment this area also.
AMES TAPING
Ames taping using hand trowels, lining of
bay walls, ceiling. Taping and coving to a finished project. You will be shown and attempt yourself various repair methods for drylining. You will cover all areas of tools, materials, applications and methods.
"NEW" CERAMIC TILING
You can enhance your tiling or plastering skills by learning how to prepare walls, plumb and straighten walls, create square openings to aid your tiling. This will create more work for you! so why not tailor a plastering and tiling course.
